We understand that much of the information we collect is sensitive — including health, disability, and support-related information — and we treat it with the seriousness and discretion it deserves.

2. What Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of personal information:

From participants and families:
Full name, date of birth, contact details (phone, email, address), NDIS number and plan details, support needs and goals, medical and health information relevant to support delivery, emergency contact details, and relevant behavioural or communication information.

From prospective team members:
Name, contact details, work history, qualifications, certifications (first aid, police check), and other information provided in an expression of interest.

From website visitors:
Name, email address, phone number, and any information submitted through our contact or enquiry forms.

We only collect information that is necessary for the purposes described in this policy.

3. How We Collect Information

We collect information in the following ways: directly from you via our website contact forms, enquiry submissions, or event booking forms; during conversations, meetings, or intake processes; through Service Agreements and support planning; and from third parties such as support coordinators, health professionals, or other NDIS providers where you have authorised this.

4. Why We Collect & How We Use It

We use personal information to deliver and manage NDIS support services, communicate with participants, families, and carers, comply with our obligations as an NDIS provider, process service agreements and invoicing, recruit and manage team members, respond to enquiries submitted via our website, and improve our services and operations.

We will not use your personal information for any purpose other than those listed above without your consent.

5. Sensitive Information

Health and disability-related information is classified as sensitive information under the Privacy Act. We collect and use this information only where it is necessary for the direct delivery of support services or where you have provided explicit consent. We take additional precautions in handling, storing, and sharing sensitive information.

6. Disclosure of Information

BeAbout does not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances: with other NDIS providers or allied health professionals involved in a participant's support, where you have consented; with the NDIS Commission or other regulatory bodies where required by law; with our team members on a need-to-know basis for service delivery; and with third-party service providers who assist our operations (e.g. accounting, IT, communication platforms) under strict confidentiality obligations.

7. Data Storage & Security

Personal information is stored securely using appropriate physical, electronic, and administrative safeguards. We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law.

8. Website & Cookies

Our website may use cookies and analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site. This data is collected in aggregate and is not linked to individual identities. You may disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect website functionality.

9. Your Rights
